Local Wingfoil Malgrat de Mar tip: excursion to Blanes
This is a tip from a local rider. Only when the Levante wind is blowing, you can ride upwind until and do a little excursion to the next village called Blanes. With 15-20 knots of wind this will take you a good half hour. The reason you can do this is that the curved shape of the beach goes well with the direction towards Blanes. As you move closer to Blanes, you can use the bend in the wind that happens closer to the town. This allows for longer upwind rides and a curve at the end towards the town as you get closer.
This upwinder brings you to the village of Blanes. Once you are there, you can do a downwinder back to Malgrat and enjoy the waves on the way back. This is maybe not the best idea for beginners, but for those who are well experienced wingfoilers Malgrat offers this nice experience.
