Wingfoil Langweer: The precious little town of Langweer is located in the Dutch province of Friesland. The town is located at the shore of the lake called Langweerder Wielen. This lake used to be very shallow. In 2016, as a part of a big project called Het Friese Merenproject, sand and dirt was dredged from the lake to reach a depth of 2.30 meters. As a result, you can wingfoil all across the lake. The sand was used to build the highway crossing at the nearby town of Joure.
I went on a Dutch summer evening where 15 knots of wind came up from the west, which was great.

When you get in the water at the indicated spot, you have to walk until the channel which is indicated with bouys. This is about 80 meters from shore. From there you can get on the foil and have a great time. Look around you for other boats as the lake can get quite busy. The location is a great spot for wingfoil langweer. There is a sandy beach and enough grass area to prepare your equipment.
If you come by boat, you can stay at the Marina of Langweer (Passantenhaven Langweer). From there, you can walk to the spot with your equipment in your hands. If you come by car, drive in from the A7 highway. You can park here and you have to walk a bit to reach the water.
The marina has showers where you can take a warm shower for 1 euro. They even offer soap.
