Malte’s journey into the world of water sports began at the young age of 14, when he entered the kitesurfing scene in Fehmarn. Showing early promise and talent, he quickly received support from his father and then-employer Bernd Hiss. This backing helped him achieve rapid success, including winning the German Vice Championship in Kitesurfing at just 16. However, competitive kitesurfing didn’t fully capture Malte’s heart, leading him to focus on gathering extensive experience in teaching water sports over the next decade.

In 2019, Malte tried wingfoiling for the first time and was instantly captivated by the sport’s unique thrill. This experience sparked a new passion, one that he was eager to share and spread. With this newfound enthusiasm for wingfoiling, Malte, along with his partner Kim, established Wingfoil Fehmarn in 2020 and they offer popular wingfoil lessons. Fehmarn is a great spot for it, too.

Wingfoil lessons Fehmarn

The school organizes wingfoil lessons Fehmarn, downwind foiling and camps as well. Here is an overview of their wingfoil lessons:

• Beginner course – 4 hours in 1 day with a private teacher
• Beginner premium course – 8 hours over 3 days in a group with maximum 3 students
• A taste of wingfoil course (Schnupperkurs) – 3 hours with maximum 4 students in flat water
• Foil training – 2 hours with maximum 4 students
• They also offer a family package.
