Wingfoil at Towy Estuary. Beaches both sides of the estuary suitable for launching for and hour or so either side of high tide. Very strong tidal flows, spring tides are best avoided. Free parking both sides and easy beach access.
The wind: Generally south westerly which causes choppy conditions. Best on northerlys. West or East winds would determine best side to launch from.
The river Towy meets Carmarthen Bay through an estuary that it shares with the river Taf. Also is meets with the two flows of the river Gwendraeth at Kidwelly. At the rivermouth you find Llansteffan Castle. There are kilometers of sandy beaches and natural beauty. A truly special place to go wingfoiling.
