Popular wing foil and wind foil destination close to Herten in Limburg, which is in the south of Holland. Kitesurfing is not allowed here, but windsurfing, wing foiling is. It’s a very cool place. You will find riders all year long here.
You have different options here:
- At the roundabout you can access the water for free but you need to walk a bit.
- At Surfclub Drusus, you can only access the water if you are a member of the surfclub.
- At Windsurfcenter Roermond you can access during the day for a small fee, and you have the advantage of facilities like toilets, a grass area and in weekends there is a food truck often.
Constant, Dutch winds make it a great spot for wing foiling. Flat water and a great ride!
You can sail well on the Oolderplas in almost all wind directions. With the exception of an easterly (offshore) wind, because then you have to be at the very back of the lake and coming back is difficult. On windy days you can always find windsurfers here.
