On the terrain of the recreational park you can go to the beach and have a nice session on this lake. Alternatively, there is a beach accross the water where you can go. Just be aware it’s a nudist beach :). Also you can opt to go to the Gieseplas which is connected to the Lathumse plas by the Westerplas.

Parking on the recreational park close to the beach is between 3 and 5 euros or you get a yearly pass for 45 euros.

Good spot with W, E, S, SE, SW winds.
